Description:

DESCRIPTION

Delivery Leads at Parallax bring the expertise to help our teams deliver valuable outcomes to our clients every day. Each of our clients and engagements is different which means you’ll need the experience to adapt your approach to deliver flexibly and pragmatically to suit a client’s needs and, in doing so, optimise practices for the effective delivery of value through coaching, experimentation and learning with our internal teams.
Whilst we adopt agile principles wherever possible, we accept that delivery is a mindset not a fixed process, and thus we value candidates that can understand and work closely with people, understanding their needs and motivations and responding to those appropriately for the greater success of the project/s.
Parallax has a diverse portfolio of work including various digital projects utilising website, app, AI and IoT technologies, across numerous industries and sectors. Delivery Leads will be responsible for a variety of these projects ensuring that outcomes are valuable, client satisfaction and internal team morale is high, and budgets and deadlines are adhered to.
Excellent communication is imperative to your success- responsibility for the collaboration and direction of client and internal teams lies with you. In addition, your leadership experience will be essential to mentor and manage more junior members of the delivery team too.
You’ll be commercially minded and have the experience to understand and author project documentation such as contracts and service agreements as well as track and regularly communicate the financial status of each project budget. In addition, we’d expect a strong level of commercial awareness relating to the value of a project and opportunity, not just the cost, finding opportunities to expand our footprint and offer additional value to a client where appropriate to do so.
For this position, it’s imperative for you to be a tech-savvy professional with an in-depth understanding of how technological solutions can help our clients achieve their goals.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE

Must haves:

  • Experience as a Delivery Manager/Lead in a variety of settings, working across different sectors and delivery frameworks to demonstrate broad experience
  • Experience in delivering projects using agile frameworks such as Scrum, as well as an appreciation for why and when certain approaches are more valuable than others
  • Experience of leading highly technical projects and teams and the ability to translate technical requirements for non-technical audiences
  • Commercial experience and the ability to produce high-quality documentation
  • A proven track record of meeting deadlines and targets
  • You will be transparent, open and honest in how you approach your work; flagging risks, issues and dependencies and planning mitigations or escalating where necessary
  • A passion for delivering outstanding work and a natural drive for quality
  • Excellent communication and organisation skills
  • A strong command of time and budget management
  • An outgoing nature, comfortable and confident around different people
  • Experience in coaching teams to optimise performance
  • Experience in leading client discovery workshops
  • Experience in working with proof of concepts and/or MVP deliverables ahead of longer-term projects commencing

Desirable:

  • Consultancy experience
  • IoT experience
  • Scrum certification
