Description:
THE OPPORTUNITY
We’re excited to build the Networks team in Australia to support the energy transition locally, and globally. We are seeking High Voltage Substation Designer to establish and foster long-term positive client relationships with our Australian and broader APNA energy clients, with a focus on Transmission and Distribution (T&D) projects. The role can be based in Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Brisbane.
The focus of your role will be to provide T&D services to our Networks, Renewables, Hydro, Mining & Industry, and Energy Advisory market sectors. You will be involved in a range of delivery functions including Owners Engineer, Concept Design and FEED, working collaboratively with our leaders to bring the right mix of resources to deliver excellence for our clients. As a senior member of the team, you will have focused on improving project outcomes for both your clients and our projects. You will have the opportunity to:
- Mentor Trainee Designers and overseas Team Members.
- Travel to site nationally and internationally for data collection and mentoring.
- Independently perform complex designs for Primary Plant for different clients on multiple projects in 2D and 3D, material take offs, footings and structural steel detail design documents with minimal supervision.
- Conduct data collection, analysis, and interpretation to support project requirements.
- Prepare concept, detailed designs, support proposals, and presentations for clients and stakeholders.
- Support project management activities, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
- Collaborate with team members and participate in project meetings to discuss progress and technical challenges.
- Conduct technical reviews and provide mentorship to junior designers.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policies in all engineering tasks.
- Lead initiatives in improvement of project execution processes, methodologies and task automation.
- Lead small project teams and coordinate with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure project success.
