The electrical department in Oslo is looking to strengthen the team with a new Principal Engineer. You will contribute to Aibel’s exciting journey in the ongoing energy transition. This is a unique opportunity to develop your expertise in electrical systems design for HVDC converter stations while enhancing your professional skills in a dynamic international environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on HVDC systems
  • Minimum 5 years experience from Electrical lead role
  • Proven track record in conceptual and detailed engineering for large-scale projects, preferably in the offshore wind energy sector
  • Strong knowledge of HVDC converter station design, electrical systems, and related technologies
  • Experience and deep knowledge of electrical design according to relevant standards such as NORSOK, ATEX, PTIL, ISO, DNVGL and IEC

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the electrical systems design during the concept and study phases for the HVDC offshore wind substation project.
  • Develop and refine conceptual engineering designs, specifications, and documentation for HVDC converter stations.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and project requirements.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution from concept to detail engineering.
  • Conduct technical reviews, risk assessments, and quality control of electrical designs.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative working environment.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in electrical engineering and HVDC technology.
