ROLE

Power the next fleet of Orbital Service Vehicles!
Due to increased customer growth and demand, Space Machines Company is looking for a high performing Lead Electrical Power Systems Engineer to join our expanding team. In this position you will play a crucial role in the design, development, procurement, implementation and testing of the electrical power systems for our next fleet of satellites. You will play a critical role in ensuring the efficiency, reliability, and performance of our satellite power systems. This is a leadership position that requires a high level of expertise in power electronics and experience in the aerospace industry.
Some interstate and international travel may be required for the role.

YOU WILL BE A GOOD FIT FOR THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in power electronics design and development, with a focus on aerospace or satellite systems.
• Proven experience with the design and development of satellite power bus systems.
• Strong knowledge of power electronic devices, circuit design, and simulation tools.
• Experience with control algorithms and digital control of power electronic systems.
• Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements for satellite systems.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and innovatively.
• Strong leadership skills with experience managing and mentoring engineering teams.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly present complex technical information to a range of audiences.
• Experience with radiation-hardened power electronics and designing for harsh space environments.
• Knowledge of satellite system architecture and integration.
• Experience with project management and leading engineering projects from concept to production.
