REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Education: BS Mechanical Engineering and 10 years relevant work experience or MS Mechanical
Engineering and 8 years relevant work experience

Experience/Skills:

  • Ten years of HVAC Engineer with demonstrated HVAC subject matter expertise(within the last 15 years) in the nuclear or chemical process industry
  • Advanced knowledge of HVAC systems including engineering standards/practices and applications such as ASHRAE, NFPA 70, and IECC
  • Candidate will provide oversight, design, planning, and maintenance of HVAC systems.
  • Experience in electrical and building automation system as it relates to HVAC

OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Area Security Access: : Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE “Q” security clearance. An active DOE clearance is not initially required to perform assigned duties. After award, the selected candidate will be notified when to apply for a clearance based on specific work assignments.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates who have possessed an active DOE clearance (L or Q) within the past two (2) years are
preferred.
Master or PhD degree from accredited college or university in Electrical Engineering with focus in Power Systems Engineering
Experience performing modeling and simulation for HVAC systems.
Work Hours: s: A 40 hour work week is scheduled. SRNS utilizes various work schedules including 5/8s (8 hour/day; five days per week), 4/10’s (10 hours/day; four days per week), and 9/80’s (9 hours/day, five days on week AA and four days on week BB. Work week excludes SRNS holidays. Each workday has 30-minute lunch. Overtime will be expected at times to meet deliverables and will be utilized at the discretion of the Manager.

Prepare plans including schedules, budgets and personnel requirements for solving technical tasks identified by management.
