The Role & Department
Genmab is on an exciting journey in just a short time to evolve from and R&D company who licensed its products for partners to market, to end to end Biotechnology company with full commercialization capabilities and bringing our products direct to our customers. The enterprise architect will play a critical role in the development and execution of Genmab’s Digital ambition. We are looking to apply the power of breakthrough digital technologies to solve some of the most challenging needs across our business. Our Digital strategy will include solution sets that accelerate early science, speed development of our medicines, or create exceptional experiences with our Patients and the Providers who care for them. As a company focused on science and innovation, we are looking to make bold plays in digital to make a dramatic difference in how we work and engage our stakeholders.
To achieve this ambition the company in on a track of tremendous growth having doubled the number of colleagues over the past two years and expectations to grow more in 2024. Joining Genmab IT and Digital at this critical time affords a hands-on enterprise architect the unique opportunity to architect a new set of IT and digital capabilities.
The role will partner across business lines of research, development, commercial and enabling functions including IT & digital, to architect solutions that are fit-for purpose, user friendly, flexible, secure, resilient, easy to maintain, and with lower total cost of ownership. The enterprise architect will join the enterprise architecture and services team and report directly to the Head of Enterprise Architecture and Services.
This role can be located in Denmark or the Netherlands.

Key Responsibilities include

  • Define high-level migration plans to address the gaps between the current and future state of current systems
  • Work closely with individual information systems architects to ensure appropriate steps are taken to evolve and change individual systems
  • Lead the analysis of the current systems environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement. In addition, lead the analysis of systems in the biopharmaceutical industry and market trends to determine their potential impact on the Genmab enterprise
  • Oversee or consult on system implementation and modification activities (a.k.a. projects and/or products), particularly for new or shared systems. Consult on development projects to harmonize systems and/or identify when it is necessary to modify the enterprise architecture to accommodate immediate or future needs.
  • Participate or facilitate the research, evaluation, and selection of new systems
  • Develop and maintain application, data, and integration roadmaps, architecture patterns, and reference architectures
  • Develop and maintain an integrated, subject-oriented, predominantly conceptual enterprise data model that represents essential data produced and consumed across the enterprise
  • Develop and maintain business intelligence and data warehousing, advanced analytics, and data management architectures
  • Develop and maintain enterprise integration architecture and patterns
  • Understand and advocate enterprise architecture guiding principles and standards including patterns and reference architectures and be the ambassador of the enterprise architecture process, its outcome and ongoing results
  • Provides guidance to the project/product solution architects around the different application, data, and integration patterns and reference architectures that may be appropriate for a given solution
  • Coordinate with other enterprise and domain architects

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, informatics, engineering or related technical field or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 10-15 years of design, architecture, and implementation experience in IT
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with a pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical industry and enabling digital technologies is required
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in application, data, and integration architectures
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in areas such as: social, mobile, analytics, cloud, internet of things, automation, DevSecOps, micro-services, business process management (BPM), business rules management (BRM), business activity monitoring (BAM), complex event processing (CEP), etc.
  • Exposure to multiple, diverse business systems, technologies, and processing environments
  • Project/Product solution architecture experience
  • Experience working with global teams of both colleagues and contractors

Moreover, it is expected, that you have following:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills in areas such as teamwork, facilitation and negotiation
  • Excellent analytical and technical skills
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of the biopharmaceutical value chain and enabling business capabilities and processes
  • Knowledge of all aspects of enterprise architecture (certification of TOGAF is a plus)
  • Ability to understand the long-term (“big picture”) and near-term perspectives of situations
  • Ability to define multiple digital solution options with pros/cons to business problems for effective decision making
  • Ability to estimate the financial impact of digital solution alternatives
  • Ability to quickly comprehend the functionality and capabilities of new digital technologies
  • Ability to assess rapidly changing digital technologies and applying them effectively to business needs
