Principal Full Stack Engineer, (f/m/x), Berlin - Hybrid, SaaS

You’re a senior engineer who loves the pace of an early-stage Start-up. You are hands on, love coding, but enjoy coaching Jr members of the team and sharing your experience to benefit your peers.
You understand that in a small team, success isn’t just about the technology, it’s also about aligning your work with the broader business goals. A Front-End Specialist at heart, you are happy working right across the stack.
Tasks
You’ll report directly to the CTO and have deep involvement in all FE applications and architecture.

Using a mix of modern technology including React, JS/TS, Go, Docker Postgres, REST & AWS you will work as part of a growing distributed engineering team of 7 consisting of BE, FE, QA and DevOps, you will:

• Write high-quality, maintainable, and scalable code
• Design, build and maintain front-end applications to enable a growing team to efficiently collaborate and deliver customer value continuously
• Co-create new coding standards and best practices ensuring high code quality and a well maintainable code base
• Provide comprehensive documentation and automated test coverage
• You’ll mentor and collaborate with software and DevOps engineers to ensure smooth deployment, continuous integration in production environments
• Pair-program and participate in code reviews
• You’ll take an integral role in technical discussions during requirements analysis and scope definition
• Participate in post-mortems, team retrospectives and document lessons learned

Requirements

• You are a good all-rounder and have a mix of technical skills, you are highly experienced in ReactJS and related frameworks
• You have experience architecting React Applications that facilitate multi-team contributions
• You understand fundamental system architecture, software design principles, data modelling and UI design
• You’ve already worked with AWS and Docker or similar
• Ideally you’ve had some exposure to REST Api’s, OpenAPI, ReactNative
• Experience working in a start-up or high growth environment
• You speak and write in English fluently
• You understand the challenges of working in a fast growth/scale up environment and are driven by the opportunity to make your mark, rather than frustrated because not everything is perfect
• Software development is not just a job, you probably have a few sides projects on the go and can occasionally be found on Github
• You are happy to spend 3 days per week in our Berlin office
