As a result of our continued and sustained growth, we are now looking to hire a Principal Geotechnical Engineer to support our current and future infrastructure projects in Canada and around the world.

TO SUPPORT YOUR SUCCESS, YOUR EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WILL INCLUDE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil, geotechnical or geological engineering. Master’ s degree preferred.
  • P.Eng. registration in BC and /or Alberta;
  • 15 years of experience in geotechnical consultancy (not including education) including working on Infrastructure, Energy and Water projects
  • Experience working on Municipal and Provincial Infrastructure projects
  • Established relationships with private and public sector clients a definite asset.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a record of client engagement to deliver the geotechnical design and consulting
  • Ability to interact with and present information and technical results to a diverse audience that may comprise a non-geotechnical audience, technically-oriented clients, and/or other geotechnical practitioners and geotechnical researchers.
  • Understanding of geotechnical software (e.g. Plaxis, GeoStudio packages, Rocscience packages, Ensoft packages, etc.)
  • Proven track record networking within in geotechnical community in BC and/or AlbertaExceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Management and delivery of ground exploration programs, geotechnical design and analysis, technical reports, and design evaluations for the Transport, Water, Energy, Built Environment, and Rail sectors.
  • Building internal and external client relationships with other engineering disciplines and project managers, and clients in the business sectors Lead proposal efforts and compile geotechnical proposals for a variety of infrastructure projects.
  • Managing subconsultants and subcontractors to provide geotechnical investigation services including drillers, utility locators, surveyors, traffic control, and geotechnical laboratories.
  • Managing a team of geotechnical engineers to deliver geotechnical investigations, geo-seismic evaluations, geotechnical numerical modeling, and hydrogeological services
  • Interacting with our Global Practice Community
  • Participation and engagement with the geotechnical community and associations in the local area.Long-term development and mentorship of a team of staff to augment Mott MacDonald’s global capacity in geotechnical design and consulting delivery.
