QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Over 15 years of experience in telecommunications, with a proven track record in technical, managerial, and commercial roles.
  • Extensive experience in network design, planning, dimensioning, and modeling for the Railway signaling industry is a must.
  • Expertise in wireless technologies including FTTX, FTTH, HFC, OFC, 4G, 5G, GSM-R, FRMCS, and IoT; experience with satellite communications, PMR technologies, and fixed transmission systems.
  • Extensive experience in network design, planning, dimensioning, and modeling; proficient in spectrum management and regulatory frameworks.
  • Strong business acumen and strategic consciousness with experience in service providers, vendors, system integrators, and consulting organizations.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage teams, with experience in various international markets including the USA, Europe and APAC regions.
  • Familiarity with standards bodies and participation in technical standards development.

Responsibilities:

LET’S TALK ABOUT THE ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

We are hiring a Principal Industrial Engineer with over 15 years of experience specializing in telecommunications to join our team in Australia and New Zealand. The ideal candidate will possess a robust blend of industry technical expertise, managerial skills, and commercial insight, with a deep understanding of wireless technologies and spectrum management. This role demands a strategic leader capable of overseeing network design, planning, and implementation across various domains, including mobile telephony, rail/transport, and emergency services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Industrial Engineer: Work with clients to investigate and review logistics and utilization of personnel, facilities, equipment, and materials. Analyze current operational processes and practices, and provide expert recommendations for improvement in the quality and efficiency of operations in various commercial, industrial and production environments. Analyze workforce utilization, operational data, and production schedules and costs.
  • Network Architecture & Design: Lead end-to-end network design, planning, dimensioning, and optimization using radio planning tools. Develop radio resource management features and algorithms, perform performance optimization, and engage in radio channel characterization and propagation modeling. Develop specifications for manufacture in accordance with client needs.
  • Solution Architecture: Architect and oversee various communication systems, ensuring comprehensive end-to-end design, performance analysis, proof of concept, trials, testing, and deployment.
  • Spectrum Management: Develop and manage spectrum licensing frameworks, conduct interference analysis, perform spectrum audits and re-farming, and handle demand modeling and spectrum valuation.
  • Regulatory & Standards Development: Contribute to developing ICT frameworks including disaster recovery, business continuity, and national broadband strategy. Participate in standards development and engagement with ITU, 3GPP, IEEE, ETSI, and UIC.
  • Commercial & R&D Management: Manage and oversee commercial projects and R&D initiatives. Develop and execute pre-sales, business development, and strategic planning strategies.
  • Leadership & Team Management: Build, manage, and mentor teams, ensuring effective departmental management and fostering a collaborative work environment.
