As an Principle Explosives Inspector, you’ll be on the front lines, inspecting, auditing, and investigating. You’ll ensure that safety is a way of life, guiding us through everything from fireworks displays to other explosives activities.Key knowledge and experience
- Fulfil the statutory role and responsibilities of Principal Inspector in accordance with the Explosives Act 1999 and the Explosives Regulation 2017
- You will have the opportunity to Lead the North Region Explosives Inspectorate team to improve the safety and health of the industry by taking corrective actions in accordance with safety and health legislation
- Ensure compliance activities and outcomes are consistently applied and in line with RSHQ’s Compliance and Enforcement Policy
Essential / desirable requirements
- A relevant degree (mining engineer/electrical engineer/mechanical engineer/chemistry/science) from a tertiary institution will be highly regarded.
- It is highly desirable that you have five years’ industry experience of which at least two years have been in a supervisory role.
- You will be required to undergo National Criminal History and Politically Motivated Violence (ASIO) checks and Queensland Explosives Security Clearance
State wide Explosives Inspectorate’s emergency response program:
- You will receive oncall allowance of $8215.51 per annum (paid fortnightly) to compensate for being on call
- You don’t just react; you strategize, coordinate, and ensure safety protocols kick into action.
- You will have your vehicle for work related activities
