EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

In your new role, you will be responsible for defining and implementing an OT infrastructure and communication strategy that ensures operational excellence while aligning with our IT architecture.
Your key objectives will include reviewing OT communication protocols and defining a strategy to maintain robust connectivity with our £1.4B OT estate. You will also need to align OT and IT architectures and define AMP8 communication methods that are cyber resilient and support our single platform strategy, which is crucial for our AMP8 operational ODI performance.
Additionally, you will serve as the technical lead for the £6M enterprise SCADA upgrade and implement new communication methods such as IoT, SDWAN, and SOGEA/SOTAP to achieve operational excellence. Finally, you will act as the technical lead between the operational and information technology departments.

MAIN KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

• Define and document all OT communication and network protocols and identify more efficiency ways to operate
• Define the AMP8 OT communication strategy that delivers operational excellence
• Technical Lead and point of contact with IT network and infrastructure teams to ensure the IT/OT interfaces are optimised
• OT communication and IT interface with the eSCADA upgrade are optimised for operational benefit and resilience
• Consolidation of data streams to our eSCADA platform to deliver the single alarm engine strategy for Network Control
• Review, business case and implementation of innovative communication methods that will support our AMP8 ODI challenges

In order to succeed in this role, it is expected that you will have experience with Ovarro SCOPEx and Ovarro and Schneider telemetry outstations. Familiarity with NIS-R OT regulations and UK Water Industry operational technology solutions is essential.
You should also have experience with IT/OT interfaces and possess excellent fault identification and problem-solving skills. Additionally, knowledge of communications such as PSTN, ADSL, 4G, GPRS, IoT, MPLS, SOGEA, SOTAP, HTTPS, MQTT, OPC, and networking principles is required. Proficiency in SQL programming and data extraction is also necessary.
