Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Obsolescence Manager for a 2 year fixed term, the Principal Reliability Engineering Technician will provide expert technical advice and support relating to availability, reliability, and maintainability for the Royal New Zealand Navy (RNZN). This is in support of the development or optimisation of the RNZN physical assets and supporting policy and processes. They will also lead stakeholder engagement within the technical community and provide technical leadership and input into the other elements of the Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) program.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
- Plan, manage, and conduct technical logistic support analysis, including Level of Repair Analysis (LORA), Maintenance and Operating Task Analysis (MTA & OTA), facility requirements identification, planned maintenance documentation, technical maintenance plans, and Logistic Support Analysis Record (LSAR) development.
- Provide expert input for quality control of technical logistic analysis products, including conducting quality checks for technical investigations.
- Lead engagement with key stakeholders and subject matter experts within the Babcock/NZDF technical community.
- Provide technical leadership and input into various ILS-related activities, such as Failure Mode, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA), Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM), spares inventory development, Life Cycle Cost (LLC) analysis, root cause analysis, technical publications, and Acceptance Verification and Validation (Maintainability).
- Conduct complex technical investigations and analysis to assess problems, propose resolutions, and design improvements.
