Principal Mechanical Engineer

We are building our Mechanical Engineering team in our Manchester office and looking for a driven and experienced Principal Mechanical Engineer
Reporting to the Director you will support with the delivery and project management of the Mechanical Services Design on assigned projects, whilst taking the lead providing M&E representation. You will be responsible for maintaining and improving the quality and efficiency of the Mechanical Services design and post contract implementation offered by Harley Haddow whilst supporting junior engineers and assisting with their personal development.
You will have strong technical and communication skills and be confident in representing Harley Haddow through direct contact with clients and other design team members.

• Taking the lead on multiple projects
• Managing the production of scheme design drawings
• Leading on the development of mechanical services strategies
• Preparing M&E specifications in BCIS format including environmental strategies.
• Assisting in the preparation of BCIS elemental M&E cost plans.
• Inputting to the Stage 2 and 3 MEP Reports
• Managing post contract stage of projects, including flow of information to maintain propose contract works programme.
• Monitoring Mechanical Installation works against Mechanical Services Design.
• Assisting Project QS in cost control
• Establishing project briefs/fees/timescales and ensure junior personnel are aware
• Managing mechanical engineering output to ensure that quality criteria are met
• Providing technical support to junior engineers and technicians
• Preparing Mechanical Services Scheme Design proposals
