KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Act in the best interests of Perenti Contract Mining, by working within legislation that underpins the company’s operation.
- Ensure conduct which is consistent with Perenti Contract Mining ’s values, policies, systems, procedures and statutory requirements.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
- Coach and mentor team members
- Drive a continuous improvement culture focused on technical effectiveness and operational excellence
- Identify, recommend, and execute business improvement opportunities to promote safe production at our sites
- Ensure all works under area of control are completed to a standard that is fit for purpose and meets the end users’ requirements.
- Advise on underground mine design, drill and blast, scheduling, and operational optimisations.
- Provide technical reviews, cost forecasting, resource allocation, life of mine/monthly/weekly progress tracking and reporting.
- Support and advise the tendering team, review of tender schedules and designs.
- Assist with the development of systems, processes and practices for the Technical Services department.
- Lead the Governance, Studies, Secondments or Operation Support Group Pillars as required.
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor Degree in Mining Engineering (or the equivalent).
- Underground Supervisors Certificate of Competency or First Class Mine Managers Certificate will be highly regarded.
- 10 years in-depth Technical and Operational experience across different mining methods.
- Minimum of 5 years supervising teams.
- Technical report writing skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication.
- Deswik software experience essential.
- Experience across various mine design and scheduling software and office suite products.

Responsibilities:
Reporting directly to the Head of Technical Services, this position will provide technical and engineering solutions along with business improvement outcomes for our operations globally. This is a collaborative and supportive role, requiring the use of technical mining best practice to deliver value for our new and existing customers whilst ensuring a safe working environment and being a visible leader in safety.
