QUALIFICATIONS

• At least 5+ years of relevant working experience, with hands-on system administration (Linux/Unix or Windows) experience
• Hands on experience in AWS and/or Azure infrastructure. Terraform, Ansible (Configuration Management), Jenkins (CI/CD) experience will be an advantage.
• Ability to administer CI/CD processes in AWS and/or Azure
• Experience in observability, monitoring and performance tuning for application and infrastructure with New Relic, Datadog, Dynatrace, Cloudwatch, Azure Monitor or similar tools
• Comfortable using logging tools to such as splunk, Elastic stack, Opensearch or others to troubleshoot and correlate root causes
• Scripting and programming languages (any of Python, Php, Ruby, Perl, PowerShell, Java, BASH, etc.)
• AWS Certification in SysOps or SA and experience with AWS Elemental is advantageous
• This role will require you to work shift duties to support business operations and meet deadlines.

DESIGNATION : Principal Operations Engineer (Video & Audio Operations)

RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for a driven individual to join us as a Principal Operations Engineer, who enjoys cloud, systems and security management, automation work in AWS and/or Azure Cloud environment. You will make the systems underpinning our consumer products more streamlined and secure by proactively monitoring and protecting system boundaries, application deployment and release status, automating manual & mundane tasks, and ensuring the quality experiences our consumers expect are preserved. You will be rotated to perform Level 2 operation support duties for Mediacorp OTT (video and audio) platforms and swiftly respond to trouble tickets.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• System administration of hybrid cloud environments and or on-premise environments (AWS, Azure, VMware and Intel x86 servers)
• Provide day-to-day support for all systems running on Linux and Windows platforms, primarily on AWS and Azure ensuring tasks such as OS and application patching, software upgrades, system administration and other application level fine tuning for better reliability engineering and task automations.
• Maintain and enforce security/vulnerability assessment, backup and other compliance requirements
• Work closely with internal product & engineering teams, partners/vendors for problem resolution, and drive troubleshooting and resolution of any issue encountered.
• Identify opportunities and propose improvements in systems and processes especially automated fixes to triggered alert conditions
• Proactively monitor and respond to alerts to ensure the highest level of availability, striving to provide the best user experiences for consumers
• Provide streaming support for round the year major live streaming events and programmes
• Contributing to runbooks, authoring documentation, refining our observability footprint, finding opportunities to lift the team and occasionally coach junior engineers
