The Pricing Strategy Lead is responsible for developing analysis, reporting, and tools needed to drive pricing strategies and margin optimisation across the business. This position reports to the Director of Pricing Ops and works across Pricing, Sales, and Product and GTM teams to assess bundling and deal structuring, build and maintain tools to guide deal pricing and discounting, and conducting and presenting analyses to drive overall business results. This position requires a strong ability to interface with key business partners and executive leadership to drive adoption of tools and analytics across the organisation.
The Day to Day
Market Expertise and Value Proposition
- Develop a strong understanding of our value proposition and stay well-informed about market trends, competitive landscape, and discounting strategies.
- Ensure alignment of pricing strategies with market conditions, customer expectations, and company objectives.
Data-Driven Analysis and Reporting
- Analyze client purchase patterns, quoting and win rate patterns, and key economic levers to generate actionable insights.
- Consolidate findings into clear, impactful reports and dashboards for business leadership and key stakeholders.
Strategic Collaboration and Alignment
- Collaborate with Product Marketing, Finance, and BI/Analytics teams to develop and implement product bundling and pricing strategies.
- Coordinate the pricing committee’s activities and initiatives, ensuring alignment with overall business strategy.
Price and Discount Optimisation
- Facilitate price optimisation for product bundles, conducting rigorous price testing and refining discounting strategies.
- Develop and track metrics to assess the impact of pricing changes and optimise strategies.
Communication and Training
- Communicate pricing analysis, strategy, and performance to internal audiences, clients, and vendors/suppliers.
- Develop training materials and conduct sessions to educate the team and stakeholders on new pricing strategies and tools.
Your Skills & Experience
This position requires knowledge of B2B pricing and pricing in SaaS domain, as well as strong skills in quantitative methods acquired through formal education and/or on-the-job experience. Strong analytical skills are required to drive complex analytics to support pricing strategies and initiatives. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required to influence the organization, including sales teams. Strong teaming and collaboration skills are required to operate effectively across the business.
Minimum requirements include:
- Degree in field related to Business, Finance, Mathematics, Economics, or similar requirements
- Minimum 5+ years experience in pricing, finance, deal/bid desk, operations or similar positions
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex analyses, summarize, and implement recommendations
- Prior work in cross-functional environments, with demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with sales and related teams
