Responsibilities:
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING AS A PRINCIPAL PROCESS ENGINEER
- Provide technical input into project briefs.
- Input and continuously improve Technical Asset Standards.
- Provide Technical Review to Capital Delivery as the Delivery Stream dictates.
- Drive the advancement of the Process Engineering discipline.
- Ensure and deliver the Engineering Regulatory compliance on relevant Assets in the Process Engineering Area.
- Complete the design of complex engineering schemes in the water and wastewater industry.
- Support multidisciplinary teams in developing solutions to engineering challenges for operational plants to ensure adherence to stringent design codes.
- Lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams for process-based projects.
- Provide process input into asset surveys and plant condition assessments, feasibility studies, optioneering, whole-life costing, and preliminary designs.
- Support testing and development of new technologies for implementation in research projects
- Provide the technical sign-off (accountability) and assurance that the project needs will be fulfilled during technical delivery, including handover and commissioning.
- Provide technical assistance to operational teams.
- Develop new tools (models, programs, apps, etc.) to enhance the Engineering team’s capabilities.
- Support the establishment of a ‘Centre of Excellence’ for engineering.
- Support the establishment of a cohesive, sustainable engineering structure from graduate to industry experts that leads Thames Water’s engineering requirements into AMP8 and beyond.
- Assist in the coaching and development of Graduates and Apprentices in the team.
Hybrid – Clearwater Court, you will be required in the office and on-site as the business requires you.
36 hours a week, Monday - Friday.
WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING TO THE ROLE
- Be degree qualified or equivalent in process engineering with charters through a relevant awarding body. (or working towards chartership)
- Have highly developed communication, influencing and interpersonal skills to interact with stakeholders and team members.
- A recognised leader in Process Engineering, including the water industry.
- Understanding of the regulatory environment to achieve Compliance with our Engineering regulatory requirements.
- Strong leadership and communication skills both internally and externally.
- Background in supporting quantity surveyors/cost estimating teams in the scope development for cost modelling and budgetary proposals.
- Knowledge of working within challenging budgets.
