Proficiencies and Knowledge:

  • Understanding and knowledge of user experience requirements that impact the development and design of electromechanical elements of consumer electronic and/or scientific products.
  • Tried knowledge and experience with materials, processes, and tooling associated with the design, manufacture, and assembly of plastic and metal parts, including: injection molding (traditional and RIM), thermoforming, extrusion, sheet metal forming, machining, and casting.
  • Proficiency with low to higher-volume manufacturing. Comfortable with sourcing, supply chain, manufacturing, and operations.
  • Manage product priorities with a focus on ensuring customer needs and user experience is implemented into the final engineering design.
  • Experience working with both internal and external manufacturing partners (CM, OEM, and JDM).
  • Experience collaborating with diverse product development teams.
  • Project and program leadership experience.
  • Shown experience working within each stage of NPI product development: from brainstorm ideation, conceptualization, prototyping, and production.
  • Proficiency with 3D CAD (SolidWorks and CREO preferred) and 2D drawings, including implementation of GD&T (ASME Y14.5-2018) and CTQ control.
  • Provide engineering guidance to research, user experience, and industrial design.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively represent XDC in a professional and thoughtful manner, both internally and externally. This includes clear interpersonal skills and a strong understanding of our industry.
