Description:
POSITION SUMMARY
The Principal Program Manager is a software design role that will be responsible for leading and executing several digital transformation projects, and will be required to manage the software design, strategic migration and enhancement of our digital health solutions.
Essential duties and responsibilities of the position include:
- Managing the end-to-end lifecycle of digital transformation programs, including the migration of legacy systems to cloud-based solutions and the development of software for our innovative digital health platforms.
- Overseeing the design, development, and deployment of products such as remote patient monitoring systems, ensuring the software meets user needs and business objectives.
- Evaluating technical information in order to develop and implement comprehensive digital transformation strategies that incorporate cutting-edge technologies like AI, ML, IoT, cloud computing, and data analytics.
- Aligning software initiatives with organizational goals, market demands, and regulatory requirements to drive business growth and innovation.
- Acting as the Product Owner for digital health solutions, managing product backlogs, user stories, acceptance criteria, and prioritizing development tasks.
- Translating product vision into actionable plans and roadmaps, guiding cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products.
- Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, including business executives, clinical teams, regulatory bodies, and external partners, to collect and document software requirements, define project scope, goals, specifications, deliverables, and timelines.
- Communicating project progress, challenges, and outcomes effectively to all stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment.
- Leading and coordinating cross-functional teams, including developers, QA engineers, research scientists, and external partners, ensuring collaboration on software development, and timely achievement of project milestones.
- Identifying potential risks in digital transformation projects and developing migration strategies to ensure successful outcomes.
- Managing project budgets, resources, and timelines to prevent delays and cost overruns.
- Ensuring all digital solutions comply with relevant regulatory standards, including 21 CFR 820, ISO 13485, and EU MDR.
- Overseeing the adoption of updated Quality Management System / QMS and maintaining Design History File / DHF documentation.
- Fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the project team.
- Utilizing user feedback, clinical trials, and market analysis to drive iterative enhancements and optimize product performance.
- All duties and responsibilities will be performed in English.
In order to perform the responsibilities of this challenging role, the following experience and qualifications are required:
- Bachelor of Science in Bioengineering, Medical Product Development Software Product Management, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Certification in project and product management such as PMI-ACP (Project Management Institute Agile Certified Practitioner), PMP (Project Management Professional) or CSPO (Certified Scrum Product Owner), or equivalent.
- 5+ years of experience in project management and digital health innovations for neurological monitoring medical devices, with at least 3 years of experience managing cloud migration or software transformation projects.
- Proven track record of leading global, cross-functional teams and managing digital transformation projects from inception to completion.
- Deep understanding of healthcare regulatory standards, including 21 CFR 820, ISO 13485, and EU MDR is crucial to this position.
- Extensive experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and cloud-native architectures.
- Experience in developing and launching SaaS/PaaS offerings and integrating with HER systems (Epic, Cerner).
- Proficiency in Agile methodologies (Scrum, SAFe, Kanban) and software development life cycle (SDLC) methodologies.
- Expertise in EHR integration (HL7, FHIR), remote patient monitoring, IoT, AI, MLOps, and digital engagement.
- Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Expertise in Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies.
- Proficiency with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, JIRA, or similar.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage stakeholder expectations effectively.
- Ability to travel up to 25% to other domestic and international Natus offices and offices of development partners, customer sites, and occasional conferences/tradeshows.
This position is a permanent, full-time position (40 hours per week) that will be based at Excel Tech Corp.’s office located at 2568 Bristol Circle, Oakville, Ontario, Canada, L6H 5S1. The salary range for this position would be between CAD$125,000 and CAD$135,000, depending on experience. The Principal Program Manager will also be eligible for a performance related annual bonus and performance increase and will receive a comprehensive benefits package which includes extended medical insurance, disability insurance, dental insurance, an RRSP/DPSP Plan, Life Insurance, Dependent Life Insurance, Out of Country Emergency Travel Insurance and access to our Employee Assistance Programs (EAP). All travel expenses will also be covered by the company.
