Description:
QUALIFICATIONS YOU MUST HAVE
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

The Principal Project Engineer plays a crucial role in a collaborative team of professionals dedicated to growth and cooperation in a dynamic company. This role involves establishing design concepts, criteria, and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration, and testing. The Principal Project Engineer works across various functions, including hardware systems, electronic design, software, components and drafting. The Principal Project Engineer’s duties include project planning and control, scheduling, cost accountability and status briefings to management. Additionally, they coordinate the preparation of proposals, the creation of work statements and the publication of specifications and reports. The role requires proven experience in managing competing priorities, maintaining high levels of engagement, and achieving successful outcomes in critical situations.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Prepare and maintain project plans, budgets, and staffing requirements to ensure that all project objectives can be met without compromising project quality.
- Compile estimated costs, resources, and time required to effectively plan the completion of projects.
- Routinely gather and analyze data to monitor projects’ progress in terms of cost and schedule against authorized task budgets and declare performance to task objectives to ensure that established objectives are achieved.
- Prepare and present plans and progress reports relating to business aspects of the project(s) to ensure that established targets are met.
- Identify and escalate project execution problems and support, with recommendations, problem resolution to ensure the successful completion of projects.
- Obtain commitments for project assignments with the various functional organizations to ensure alignment with overall project objectives.
- Direct all phases of programs from inception through completion.
- Oversee and coordinate the administrative and operational aspects of ongoing projects within program guidelines.
- Monitor and assess project risks and opportunities and develop mitigating (or exploitive) options to meet productivity, quality, and customer-satisfaction goals and objectives.
