ABOUT YOU

We are seeking a motivated and committed individual who can support the work of NSW Health with:

  • Broad and comprehensive experience in clinical trials, including site leadership and management
  • Appreciation of the specific considerations related to working in rural and remote areas
  • Advanced stakeholder engagement including negotiation skills
  • Evaluation skills, and an ability to apply a continuous improvement approach
  • Ability to identify and leverage key capability building strategies

We are looking for a Principal Project Officer with comprehensive clinical trials experience. The Principal Project Officer will lead the development and delivery of a Clinical Trials Community of Practice and Mentoring Program to meet the specific needs of clinical trial coordinators and research nurses in rural and remote areas of NSW and the ACT.
This is a key role for someone who enjoys a dynamic environment to deliver strategic outcomes to the health sector.
You will be pragmatic in your approach, have excellent project management skills, be experienced in communicating with high level stakeholders, and have exceptional interpersonal skills.
Crown Clerk Grade 11/12, starting salary from $145,378 - $168,130 p.a. plus Super and annual leave loading, with a 35-hour work week.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • The Principal Project Officer will be leading the design, implementation, operational management, and evaluation of a Community of Practice and Mentoring program for clinical trials coordinators and research nurses.
  • The Principal Project Officer will manage and deliver the existing clinicaltrialsNSW Community of Practice as directed by clinicaltrialsNSW.
  • The Principal Project Officer will prepare written advice in the form of briefs, reports, presentations and discussion papers to inform, respond to and drive project initiatives.
  • The Principal Project Officer will be required to travel across all areas of NSW and the ACT including Sydney and rural and remote Local Health Districts, and Canberra Health Services.
