Description:

We are currently looking for a Principal Reliability Engineering Manager to join CXP in our rapidly growing Customer Reliability Engineering (CRE) team in Dublin.
As well as leading a Reliability Engineering team, the successful candidate will also be able to demonstrate technical breadth while managing complex programs and workstreams. They will work directly with Customers, Customer Support, Livesite Teams, and Engineering to drive outcomes on behalf of our customers - if it matters to our customers, it matters to us.
To be successful in this role, you must have a great track record of customer empathy, a systematic and structured approach, an innate aptitude for agile troubleshooting, an appreciation for customer communications, and be familiar with cloud computing environments, technologies, and support methodologies.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Management or Team-Lead experience in a technology company environment
  • Reliability Engineering or Support Engineering experience in an enterprise environment
  • Familiarity with Azure services and capabilities and/or cloud platforms
  • Communication skills that allow you to take lead and control the communication with customers, internal Microsoft stakeholders and third-party vendors
  • Strategic thinking, quantitative and analytical skills, team leadership, and collaboration
  • Excellent problem resolution, judgment, negotiating and decision-making skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to communicate to a variety of audiences; including high-profile customers, executive management, and engineering teams
  • BS/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or equivalent experience
  • In-depth technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, or systems administratio
  • Hands on technical experience working with large-scale cloud or distributed system
  • Proven track record and experience in people management and leadership
    Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a growing team of Reliability Engineers working on Engineering and Customer supporting programs
  • Ability to triage, prioritize, escalate, to ensure optimum outcomes
  • Participate in on call coverage rotation (approx. 10% of time)
  • Provide leadership to all customer-facing teams during incidents
  • Identify and drive implementation of customer centric mitigation methodologies
  • Bring strong Reliability Engineering rigour and discipline to help drive and enhance the experience of customers on the Azure platform
  • Drive workstreams on behalf of critical customers including Architecture reviews / resilience recommendations, Issue diagnosis & recommendations, Advanced troubleshooting & escalation management
