Description:
Responsibilities:
This role is a Permanent position on a 9-day fortnight. Based at our Worsley Alumina Refinery, it’s a short drive from Collie (15 minutes), Bunbury (45 minutes) and other nearby scenic communities.
As the Principal Research Scientist, you will be responsible for identifying and delivering technology development initiatives that support and enhance the value of Worsley assets through improved operating stability, sustainability, and cost. This is enacted through a pipeline of projects focusing on process chemistry improvements that deliver long term value to the asset.
Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:
- Develop and execute research plans to evaluate and recommend chemical process improvements
- Provide expert technical recommendations for enhancing refinery operations, production, and quality
- Identify and assess future production creep, decarbonization and sustainability opportunities, and propose actionable recommendations
- Maintain industry and university partnerships to leverage the latest technology and research
