Developer Experience is a critical part of this platform’s success, and AI Platform Experiences is hiring a Principal Software Engineer to work with its engineering team that provides SDK support and other developer resources for major LLM technology providers, including OpenAI.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR equivalent experience.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science
- OR related technical field AND 10+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript,
- OR Python
- OR Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR equivalent experience.
- Familiarity and/or experience with applied AI technology or machine learning techniques
- Experience shipping REST APIs, client libraries, or other entry points into service-based products
- Full-stack experience delivering end-to-end solutions that incorporate novel technology
Software Engineering IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.

- Learning about, understanding, and experimenting with the latest LLM capabilities on a continual cadence that keeps up with your customers.
- Partnering with engineering, product, and leadership teams to create robust client libraries that make new and fast-moving AI features easy for developers to use.
- Driving design and technical strategy decisions based on product usage data, customer feedback, and other empirical signals.
- Providing technical leadership and subject matter expertise as you establish and grow best practices for the integration of emerging technology.
- Ensuring that your customers are appropriately supported as they incorporate AI into their products.
