Within the Central Product Group, the Customer Experience and Innovation team is focussed on innovation and product development in the field of emerging technologies. We are looking for a product director to join our team and lead the development of our flagship innovation products.
Role Overview
As a Product Director, you will be responsible for leading the entire product lifecycle, from ideation to launch. You will lead initiatives with high levels of uncertainty from discovery to implementation across all areas of the product. Depending on team needs and problem areas you have identified, you will work embedded in a cross-functional team, or independently with the support of subject matter experts from engineer, UX and user research, as well as with stakeholders and users.
You will work closely with the Head of Product and Product Leads to build the product vision, strategy, and roadmap, and will be responsible for communicating them effectively to the team to implement.
This is an exceptional opportunity to innovate and contribute to Moody’s innovation journey and our success. Although this is an individual contributor role, several coaching competencies are expected to help improve and mentor the wider product team.
Responsibilities
Problem solving
- Identify high-value and complex problem areas for the business and translate these into concrete opportunities
- Lead undefined and ambiguous initiatives from discovery to implementation
- Coach team members on bringing structure and strategy to problem spaces across different squads
User-centricity
- Align high-value user needs and problems with wider business goals
- Manage trade-offs between different user needs across segments and ensure we drive value across a variety of customer use cases
- Anticipate and shape future innovation and product opportunities based on user research and insights
- Maintain in-depth industry and market knowledge identify and shape future opportunities
Strategy & vision
- Set & communicate product vision and help build strategies across all product squads
- Work with Head of Product to define a vision and long-term ambition for the product’s remit
Delivery
- Pick-up work across the product team to help close execution or skills gaps
- Drive collaboration across technology, research and design teams to translate user needs into actionable product milestones
- Help teams overcome blockers to execution and drive decisions
- Help teams build roadmaps for strategies that help us achieve business goals
Coaching
- Provide guidance and support across the product team, helping them develop their skills and navigate challenges.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive product team culture where learning and growth are prioritized.
- Lead by example, demonstrating best practices in product management and leadership whilst fostering a culture of continuous improvement
Requirements
- Proven experience in product management working within an innovation team or startup taking products from 0 to 1.
- Track record of successfully tackling complex product problems and driving outcomes
- Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Passion for understanding customer needs and delivering exceptional user experiences
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, and ability to work with data and metrics.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, and ability to work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
