Matter. is a VC backed Cleantech scale-up and has an opportunity for a supply chain expert with a strong engineering background to manage our operational activities, owning key supply chain strategy and related projects, procurement and production management.
Job Title: Principal Supply Chain Engineer
Location: Central Bristol / Hybrid
Salary Range: £62,400 - £78,000 per annum

Key Responsibilities

  • Supply Chain: Sourcing and audit of suppliers for prototyping / low volume batch production to support development projects and Industries pilot delivery.
  • Supplier Management: Supplier QA & QC, Contract manufacturer management for ‘Home Laundry’, ensure quality standards are met, and managing risks.
  • Commercial: Support contract negotiations though risk mitigation, analyse T&Cs to provide level one red line review for legal team.
  • DFM: Design alignment with supply chain, collaborate on project specifications to simplify manufacturing and procurement.
  • Operational Management: Forecasting, stock planning, Invoice & PO management.
  • Compliance and Sustainability: Ensuring that the supply chain operations comply with regulatory, B-Corp and sustainability requirements.
  • Planning: Forecasting production/demand, yield review, managing inventory levels.
  • Process Improvement: Improving supply chain processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Quality: Quality audits, quality control.
  • Cost down: Ability to drive cost out of product through supply chain optimisations. Working with engineering team and suppliers to identify opportunities.
  • Logistics: Ability to support international delivery of units for installation
