Job Title: Principal Systems Engineer – Architecture

Salary: From £50,000 depending on skills and experience plus executive benefits
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES:
Essential
- Background within a STEM Subject
- Proven ability to solve problems
- Extensive Stakeholder management skills at all levels with the ability to influence
Desirable
- Chartered Engineer, or actively working towards this
- Specific Systems Engineering experience and experience using tools such as IBM DOORS and Enterprise Architect
- Experience in leading small teams
- Experience in relevant industry
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of the system model, championing the adoption of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) within the programme
- Assist the Engineering Manager with key engineering tasks and activities
- Support the development of design solutions to complex technical problems against agreed time, cost and quality
- Support the development and management of Combat Systems requirements
- Ensure design proving evidence is comprehensive, captured within the requirements management tools and has been endorsed by the appropriate level of authority
- Understand the contractual and performance requirements for Combat Systems and support the definition and associated acceptance criteria and events through design, build, integration, installation and commissioning activities
- Provide technical support to integrated performance and acceptance activities, including acceptance of equipment from suppliers through to system acceptance by the customer
- Work with various engineering teams to improve own levels of domain knowledge and subject matter expertise
- Guiding and supporting more junior members of the team
