Description:

QUALIFICATIONS YOU MUST HAVE

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 8+ years of prior engineering experience
  • Experience with Systems installation, integration and test experience.
  • Experience with Engineering technical abilities and project management skills.
  • Experience with internal and external customers in a team environment (Government, Military, SETA, and Contractor)
  • Experience with Request For Change (RFC) impact reviews and assessment experience.

QUALIFICATIONS WE PREFER

  • Experienced with Customer NSIS and/or rapid delivery methods
  • Evidence of excellent customer relationships
  • Experience working across contract and location boundaries
  • Experience with Atlassian JIRA and Confluence beneficial

Raytheon is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer in Alice Springs, Australia providing enterprise-wide systems engineering and integration support to an operational government customer within the Intelligence Community. This position manages moderately sized projects or processes with minimal oversight and provides measurable input to new products, processes or standards in operational plans to implement customer integrations and/or objectives. The position works in a SCIF environment with flexible work hours to accommodate work/life balance practices.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • The Principal Systems Engineer provides systems engineering and integration support to assess, plan, coordinate, schedule and implement projects from inception through system transition.
  • Problems and issues faced can fluctuate and require detailed information gathering, analysis and investigation to understand the problem and determine appropriate resolution.
  • This position communicates with many levels of program, other contractor and government stakeholders and works to positively influence parties within and outside of the job function at an operational level regarding policies, procedures and practices.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills are necessary to effectively manage projects in this environment.
  • A key purpose of this position is to manage system integration projects and provide reliable data to the Customer enabling them to make informed decisions regarding the installation, integration checkout and test of operational system modifications and upgrades.

This role is also eligible for the Re-Empower Program. The Re-Empower Program helps support talented and committed professionals as they rebuild their capabilities, enhance leadership skills, and continue their professional journey. Over the course of the 14-week program, experienced professionals will gain paid, on-the-job experience, have an opportunity to participate in sessions with leadership, develop personalized plans for success and receive coaching to guide their return-to-work experience. Upon completion of the program, based on performance and contributions participants will be eligible for a career at RTX.
