Description:

Principal Systems Engineer
Sterling Height, MI
Rate: $70 - $72 and hour with partial benefits
Contract to Hire opportunity

As a Principal Systems Engineer, you will:

  • Manage requirements development
  • Derive necessary requirements for evaluating subsystem and component performance
  • Develop and maintain requirements compliance and supporting documentation
  • Support concept architectures and system characteristics.
  • Facilitate architecture development of assigned system, subsystems, and components.
  • Interface design, development, and maintenance for sub-system, system and components.
  • Document System/Subsystem Design Descriptions (SSDDs) and capability assessments
  • Drive design decisions and trade studies with detailed document and results.
  • Support of monitoring cost, schedule, and risk.
  • Coordinate Systems Engineering activities to influence the design.
  • Support vehicle level Systems Engineering activities and program milestone reviews.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering
  • 6+ year’s relevant experience in System Engineering -
  • Performing requirements evaluation,
  • Derivation and allocation
  • Translating requirements to viable concepts design
  • Developing architecture solutions and evaluating alternatives.
  • Balance system design considering system concept of operations (CONOPS), performance, constraints, and logistics concerns.
  • Documenting complex trade studies.
  • Generate capability assessments per the program statement of work.

SKILLS PREFERRED

  • Logical architecture experience
  • Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), (SysML, Cameo)
  • Familiarity with Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF).
  • DOORS requirements management tool.
  • INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) certification.
  • Guidance and mentoring of younger engineers.
