This includes all of the Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), solution management, continuous improvement, equipment upgrades, spares, repairs, training, supportability, failure prediction, equipment health status monitoring, support solution architecture, knowledge and information management. These future solutions are expected to be highly dependent on information systems, use of synthetics and digital analytics, including Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.

  • Supporting the creation of the concepts and architecture for the through life support solution, taking input from the product design teams, as well as the functional subject matter experts (including supportability, obsolescence, data)
  • Carrying out system functional analysis, modelling and architecture development / refinement as required
  • Supporting the identification and establishment of Use Cases to perform Functional Analysis to help define the logical architecture of the solution.
  • Working closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure architecture alignment with other elements of the programme.
  • Ensuring the application of appropriate tools / techniques for problem definition by the team
  • Escalating emerging issues and levels of risk and helping define opportunities and risk mitigation options
  • Using the output of Operational Analysis (OA) to improve the solution design / requirements
  • Coordinating multi-stakeholder analysis into reports and presentations for delivery to customers and industry partners
  • Fostering relationships and networks within and outside the line of business and actively identifying opportunities for adoption of best practice
  • Developing, coaching, mentoring, teaching, and upskilling other engineers, particularly in the problem definition domain, but also in the wider application of systems engineering.
