TE WHIWHINGA MAHI - THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking a Principal Technical Property Specialist to join a team of technical specialists to ensure AT processes for managing applications for property interests in the road corridor and stopping of roads are developed and implemented in accord with statutory provisions, AT policy and guidelines and key project timelines.

In the Property division you will work with a team of technical specialists to provide and promote outcome focussed, technical property services for public and external stakeholders in respect of the property interests that impact the road corridor. You will:

  • Provide high quality technical property advice to AT’s internal teams, CCOs and the public with regard to AT’s policies and guidelines and applicable statutory processes.
  • Process encroachment, building line restriction cancellation, removal of limitations as to parcels and road stopping applications in a professional and timely manner.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in relation to encroachment, building line restriction cancellation, removal of limitations as to parcels and road stopping.
  • Conduct internal and external presentations on subject matter relevant to expertise.
  • Oversee road stopping applications under the Public Works Act 1981 and Local Government Act 1974.
  • Build capability within the wider team through coaching and mentoring on areas of expertise and commercial initiatives.
  • Provide a quality customer service experience for enquiries within the team’s areas of expertise.
  • Engage and manage external consultants and professionals such as lawyers, valuers, surveyors and LINZ consultants.
  • Undertake appropriate risk management.
  • Review all leases, licences, contracts, instruments and agreements for accuracy.
  • Undertake research and analysis as required
  • Assist with official information requests.
  • Provide guidance and training to team members and other stakeholders on the team’s areas of expertise.
