Description:

We are seeking an inspiring and dynamic Pharmacy Technician to join our senior pharmacy team at Chesterfield Royal Hospital. This post is a key departmental leadership role, responsible for both procurement and distribution teams.
Applicants will need to have extensive experience in procurement and distribution and be able to deliver on an essential operational agenda.
Managing a team, you will ensure compliance with Wholesale Dealers License (WDA) regulations to provide an outstanding service to all our customers.
System Manager of stock control system.
To oversee Wholesale Dealing in accordance with MHRA License including maintenance of the associated Quality System.
Eligible to act as, or work towards becoming Responsible Person for MHRA wholesale Dealers Licence (To be eligible will need at least 1 year working under a GDP licence)
Application of NHS-England CMU contracts, ensuring and maintaining cost improvement
Effective stock management, maintaining regulatory documentation.
Manager for pharmacy stores and distribution services to ensure adequate and timely supply of medicines.
CRH have a Wholesale dealing licence to allow us to procure, hold and supply medication to other NHS hospitals, hospices and private hospital/individuals. This role is critical to maintaining this licence.

System Manager for the Pharmacy Department stock management computer system and oversee its operation and development.
To ensure that purchasing activity complies with National, Divisional and “collaborative“ contracts or local agreement (e.g. consortium), and that purchases are sourced from appropriate suppliers.
To ensure that purchase quantities are monitored to reflect levels of demand, “best buy” arrangements and to ensure optimum stock holding and minimise waste.
To represent the Trust at the East Midlands Pharmacy Purchasing consortium and to contribute accordingly to its work plan and that of the Pharmacy Collaborative.
To oversee the management of stock shortages and implement solutions in line with regulatory requirements.
To ensure that pharmacy computer files are monitored to ensure the accuracy of purchasing and price data.
To set, maintain, update and review standards for file descriptions to ensure consistency of nomenclature standards to support the safe use of medicines.
To develop systems to assess and monitor data quality.
To be responsible for the operation and development of the Pharmacy Robot to ensure safe and efficient medicines storage and supply. To ensure that staff are trained, and that equipment and systems are regularly revied to support a high-quality system of medicines optimisation.
To be responsible for the operation and development of the pharmacy and ward-based ADC cabinets:
ADC cabinets are used to best advantage to support medicines safety and medicines optimisation.
That staff are trained to use them safely and effectively.
Ensure that all other electronic and physical systems within the department interface and support the safe and effective use of the ADC cabinets
To ensure that pharmacy Distribution Services are managed and developed efficiently and effectively.
To ensure that stock movements are monitored and documented appropriately to ensure effective stock control, and compliance with hospital policy.
To ensure that reporting of financial data from the pharmacy computer system is co-ordinated on a monthly basis and provided to relevant parties.

To lead and manage staff resources within Distribution and Procurement including:

  • Recruitment and Selection
  • Education and Development
  • Competency assessment
  • Sickness Absence
  • Managing Poor Performance

To ensure that all wholesale dealing activity is compliant with the MHRA Wholesale Dealers License including management and development of the associated Quality System, and to act as the Responsible Person named on MHRA license liaising with the licence holder as necessary.
To contribute to the management and development of the pharmacy service as a member of the department leadership team
To be responsible for the management of the pharmacy stock control system
To implement effective arrangements to manage user access control and security in line with guidance contained in the trust’s IM&T Security and other policies, including maintenance of a local IT security policy. To notify the Trust’s IT Security Officer of any identified or potential security incident;
To development and maintain all necessary operational procedures to ensure effective and efficient use of the stock management system;
To ensure all users are trained to use the system effectively, where appropriate liaising with the Trust’s Training department to implement training programmes;
To manage supplier relationships relating to the system, including implementing fault resolution mechanisms, if necessary.
To co-ordinate local arrangements for disaster contingency and, in conjunction with the Trust IT Support Department, ensure that disaster recovery processes are in place and tested for the pharmacy stock management and dispensing systems.
To act as the local administrator of the Powergate e-commence purchasing and invoicing system and to act as the liaison with the supplier in the event of system failure.
To maintain the operation of Rx-Info Define, including creating daily stockholding record and maintaining Issues Report.
To identify data quality issues and action as appropriate;
To identify system-specific risk management issues for incorporation in Directorate risk registers.
To participate in Quality Governance arrangements in the Pharmacy.
To participate in weekend and bank holiday working in accordance with departmental rotas.
Any other duties which may be requested by the Head of Medicines Management in consultation.
To maintain confidentiality at all times relating to the patients, staff and the Trust.
To actively participate in the Staff Appraisal Process.
To be familiar and comply with relevant Operational, Personnel, Health and Safety policies and procedures, including Fire, COSHH, No Smoking and Alcohol.
Maintain a safe environment by adhering to local infection control policies
