KEY REQUIREMENTS:
- Exceptional L&D skills, including strong communication and presentations skills, with proven capability to design and deliver training to diverse audiences on a range of subjects.
- Empathy and Emotional Intelligence: Understanding and addressing the diverse needs and perspectives of individuals and teams.
- Cultural Awareness: Sensitivity to cultural differences and ability to adapt training and delivery methos to a global audience.
- Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyse challenges, evaluate options, and make informed decisions to improve learning outcomes.
- Adaptability: Flexibility to adjust learning approaches based on audience needs and changing organisational goals.
- Collaboration: Strong ability to work with cross-functional teams, stakeholders and partners to foster a cooperative and productive environment.
- Project Management: Good project management skills with the ability to communicate needs, prioritise tasks, manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Attention to Detail: Good eye for detail to ensure accuracy in learning design, delivery and evaluation.
- Proven capability (min. 3-5 years) designing and delivering product / technical training and management development training.
- Proficiency and demonstrable experience developing eLearning, preferably using Articulate 360. Good graphic design capability, e.g. Canva, and expertise in video design and editing would be advantageous.
- Proven track record in delivering innovative learning solutions to meet varied business outcomes.
- Experience of delivering coaching and facilitation desirable.
- Relevant L&D qualifications/certifications are desirable, e.g. CIPD, TAP, APTD, CPTD, Coaching, Change Management.

Responsibilities:
ROLE OVERVIEW:
The Principal Trainer / L&D Specialist is responsible for the design, development and delivery of learning programmes and interventions that elevate people capability and nurture talent across JATO. The role focuses on creating innovative learning solutions that align with strategic goals, fostering a culture of continuous learning and empowering growth and development. By driving global learning and talent development initiatives, the Principal Trainer / L&D Specialist ensures that our team members are equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed and contribute to the organisation’s success.
The role encompasses all aspects of learning design and delivery, from analysis and development to implementation and performance evaluation. The Principal Trainer / L&D Specialist collaborates closely with our L&D and HR partners to create and deliver learning interventions that address both immediate and strategic needs across all functions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work with L&D, HR Partners and other stakeholders to evaluate learning needs and recommend options.
- Design and conduct skills assessments for multiple functions.
- Evaluate learning effectiveness against desired learning and business outcomes.
- Design and develop innovative and tailored learning solutions that integrate a range of instructional methods and technologies to support blended learning.
- Use learning technologies to design and develop eLearning.
- Develop and enhance our JATO University (LMS Platform).
- Update and manage existing programmes, innovating and continually improving to meet audience needs.
- Lead delivery and facilitation of engaging and impactful training sessions at all levels, both in-person and virtually, to enhance skill development and knowledge retention.
- Lead facilitation for group discussions, workshops and collaborative sessions, creating an environment that encourages participation, fosters learning, and drives results.
- Oversee the planning, coordination and execution of professional learning programmes and services, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and achieve desired outcomes.
- Design and deliver innovative training that builds product knowledge, enabling teams to effectively represent and support JATO’s products, solutions and services.
- Support organisational change initiatives by advising on learning and development needs and designing and delivering learning interventions that help teams adapt to new processes, systems and cultural shifts.
