What You’ll Be Doing
You will join our Business Controls team reporting into our Manager, Business Monitoring, and Insights. As an Analyst, you will be responsible for reviewing and investigating retail credit files to determine non-compliance with established lending guidelines, data integrity errors or fraud. You will take appropriate action to refer lending due diligence and data integrity errors to the business, for coaching and training purposes.

You will have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you will spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote. Details on your work arrangement (proportion of on-site and remote work) will be discussed at the time of your interview.

How You’ll Succeed

  • Analytical Support - Review new retail credit files identified through the LDDM Database and routed to Lending Due Diligence Monitoring Team, to ensure compliance to lending guidelines and established timelines. Review new credit files using several applications and systems. Using company policies and processes, effectively make decisions and action appropriately, or escalate when necessary. Work with CIBC frontline employees to validate and gather income documentation or information, when required. Make recommendations regarding loan/line status.
  • Teamwork and Partnering - Work with CIBC partners to complete investigation and reach a resolution or escalate when required. Advise appropriate parties, via email, of lending due diligence errors, based on information gathered from review and according to guidelines.
  • File Management - Capture information, document actions taken and update relevant databases. Keep informed of all changes to documented procedures, rules, and regulations to ensure accurate file management.

Who You Are

  • You can demonstrate experience in CIBC principles, policies, and procedures to quickly and accurately action lending files. Working knowledge of retail lending application policies and procedures to effectively identify data integrity and due diligence issues. Working knowledge of CIBC computer applications, including COINS CLASS, Excel and Outlook, COMPASS, LCMS. Fraud or loss prevention experience from a retail environment is an asset. French speaking skills are an asset.
