We are searching for a Privacy Officer to join our West Bedford Transitional Health Team based in Bedford, Nova Scotia.
The transitional care model supports NSH patients/families who require additional time, services, and support to transition back to home/community, by providing an alternate space with intentional programming, building design, and resource allocation to increase the probability of returning to their previous living situation.
The Privacy Officer is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of privacy, health information management, analytics and reporting policies, procedures, and compliance frameworks within Shannex Transitional Health.

Responsibilities:

  • Degree in Health Information Management, Law, Health Administration, Health Sciences, or a related field.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years experience in managing privacy, specifically as it relates to personal health information.
  • Experience providing strategic leadership, developing policy and managing privacy initiatives in a cross functional organization.
  • Master’s Degree in related field considered an asset.
  • Professional privacy or information management certification considered an asset. (e.g. CIPP/C, CHIM, etc.)
  • A passion for the healthcare sector and/or ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations, services and care
