Description:

We are looking for a highly motivated Privacy Operations Manager to support our dynamic global business. This is a deeply operational and cross-functional role that will directly support global privacy initiatives and drive the development and execution of scalable solutions that comply with new and evolving privacy obligations. Day-to-day, this includes, among many other things: supporting data mapping and data governance efforts; conducting PIAs and related assessments; managing privacy policies, procedures and strategies; and working cross-functionally with tech and business stakeholders to operationalize the latest privacy and data protection requirements. As part of a small team where all members contribute at every level, this person must be able to think creatively, provide solution-oriented advice and develop a mastery of both the big and small picture.
This hybrid position will be based in our either our Boston, Galway, London, or Berlin office. At Wayfair, hybrid for enterprise employees requires a commitment to be in the office Monday through Thursday, with Fridays remote.

Responsibilities:

  • Support and manage our efforts to align with all relevant privacy and data protection laws in assigned jurisdictions (e.g., EU, US, Canada, UK, China, and India).
  • Stay abreast of privacy regulations, standards and industry best practices and communicate and train internal stakeholders, including management, on the impacts of new developments.
  • Identify, manage and document global privacy requirements through assessments and audits.
  • Counsel stakeholders on privacy requirements across our global business, including our omnichannel customer offerings and our supply chain and logistics business.
  • Manage privacy team personnel responsible for carrying out business process assessments, data mapping and inventories, and other privacy initiatives.
  • Contribute to the evolution of the privacy program by identifying and defining areas for improvement, conducting gap analyses and putting new procedures in place to mitigate privacy risk across the company.
