Description:
Key accountabilities will include:
- Provide thought leadership and technical expertise to support the company and relevant business stakeholders in achieving its goal of developing and maintaining a robust and effective strategy and framework for management of personal data
- Provide timely and commercial expertise in relation to privacy and related practices, both at a broad level and in relation to particular transactions or activities
- Develop educational and policy initiatives to drive a shared level of understanding and culture of continuous improvement in the management of personal data across the business
- Act as data protection officer and be responsible for Zespri’s privacy management frameworks, including data mapping, technical and organisational measure

This is a 12 month fixed term contract, job sharing with another Privacy Specialist at Zespri. The role is part time, 18.75 hours per week (0.5 FTE), with the flexibility to choose work days that best suit you. The Privacy Specialist role oversees the framework/strategy within Zespri for information management and in particular privacy and personal data frameworks. This role is responsible for ensuring globally relevant organisational and technical measures are managed and communicated throughout the organisation.

You will have demonstrated experience in the management of information within multi-national businesses in a similar role. You will also meet the following selection criteria:
- Bachelor’s degree in information management or law, or specialised privacy certification is highly regarded
- Demonstrated capability in building long-term relationships, change management and contribution to a leadership culture across functional business units
- 5+ years of experience working across at least two of the following areas: privacy, cybersecurity, technology law, data management
- Strong written and spoken English, other languages would be an asse
