  • Demonstrated track record of leading the delivery of UK tax advice to clients.
  • Technical and practical tax knowledge and experience in advising individuals, families and their investment structures, UK corporate tax and/or partnership matters.
  • Client focused and strategically and commercially aware.
  • Strong client relationship management skills with ability to develop quality outputs to clients
  • Effective time management, ability to meet client deadlines
  • Excellent communicator in a range of situations both written and oral

Our Private Capital Team focuses on advising individuals, owner-managed businesses, investment structures, global financial institutions and market-leading boutiques on all aspects of their tax affairs, working with other specialist teams within EY’s wider business, across tax and other services. We want to hear from candidates who are looking for a broad and varied foundation in tax matters, and who are excited by the challenges of working in this dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the successful delivery of tax advisory projects across a range of matters UK corporation tax, international tax, income tax, capital gains tax, inheritance tax and other tax matters relevant to UK and international individuals, businesses, and partnerships (note you do not have to have expertise in all areas to apply).
  • Help people to develop through effectively supervising, coaching and mentoring staff.
  • Role in the management of the team both in terms of strategy and operations and also through managing staff development and assignments.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients.
  • Proactive business development to win new work.
  • Interaction with other EY offices both in the UK and overseas.
  • Contact with HM Revenue & Customs and other third parties, including major financial institutions, lawyers and wealth advisory businesses.

TO QUALIFY FOR THE ROLE YOU MUST HAVE

  • ACA / CTA / Tax Inspectors with full Technical Training course / Law qualification / Tax specialist qualification
  • Strong tax technical skills
  • Initiative, professionalism and confidence
  • Experience of coaching and developing junior staff
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • The ability to motivate a team; manage, mentor and train junior staff and work with people from across the business
