Responsibilities:

  • Mastermind the Private Label sales and income budget, ensuring top performance.
  • Oversee Metcash-owned brands, managing direct sourcing and exclusive goods.
  • Negotiate COGS like a pro to maximize margins for Retailers and Metcash.
  • Optimize sourcing and tendering of existing products to enhance profitability.
  • Collaborate with the National Category Manager to develop and align Private Label ranges and pricing plans with strategic priorities.
  • Build and maintain stellar supplier relationships, ensuring the best commercial outcomes and driving category growth strategies.

You’re Likely a Match If

  • Proven ability to work with suppliers for mutual growth.
  • Experience in Category Management and Product Development.
  • Deep knowledge of Shopper and Category trends with a track record of applying them in a similar FMCG environment.
  • Customer-focused and collaborative, with the power to influence both internally and externally.
  • Intimate understanding of the success drivers in Category Management.
  • Exceptional project management and planning skills, thriving on timelines.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver category strategies and plans that are clearly communicated, embraced, and executed.
  • Proven track record of being an exceptional negotiator
