POSITION SUMMARY

IREX is actively searching for a Private Sector Engagement (PSE) expert to strengthen project engagement strategies across diverse practices and thematic areas. Working closely with the Director for the Center for Applied Learning and Impact, this consultant will evaluate current initiatives and practices, devise innovative private sector engagement approaches customized for IREX, and conduct specialized training sessions to enhance staff proficiency in these strategies.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Graduate degree in International Development, Economics, Finance, Public Policy, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven expertise in Private Sector Engagement (PSE) strategies, with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of international development, including IREX’s core practice areas of education, media and information, leadership and governance with experience working in diverse cultural and organizational contexts.
  • Experienced in conducting interviews and in data collection methods.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess data and trends and provide strategic recommendations.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively train, collaborate, and mentor staff members.
  • Proficient in developing and delivering training curricula and modules.

Responsibilities:

  • Review current practices across various projects using program document review and interviews with key staff, including Chiefs of Party and technical staff in country offices and DC-based Practice Directors, Technical Advisors and business development staff.
  • Propose innovative PSE approaches customized for IREX and develop associated training materials.
  • Deliver targeted training sessions to enhance staff proficiency.
