They are seeking a skilled and experienced Probate Administrator to join their team to manage the administration of estates and ensure the highest standards in their will drafting services.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven experience in probate administration, ideally within a legal or estate planning environment.
  • Strong knowledge of wills, probate law, and estate administration in England.
  • Experience with or understanding of trusts.
  • Exceptional organisational skills with an ability to manage a varied and busy caseload.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Attention to detail, especially when checking legal documents.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • STEP (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners) qualified or working towards qualification.
  • Knowledge of estate and trust taxation, inheritance tax, and trust administration.

Responsibilities:

ROLE OVERVIEW:

As a Probate Administrator and Technical Adviser, you will be responsible for managing the complete estate administration process for their clients, from initial instruction to final distribution. This includes ensuring compliance with all legal requirements, communicating effectively with beneficiaries and third parties, and advising on matters related to trusts and estate planning. An additional key responsibility will be the technical checking of wills drafted by their team, ensuring accuracy and legal compliance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Administering estates of deceased clients, including obtaining Grants of Probate and Letters of Administration.
  • Liaising with beneficiaries, executors, financial institutions, and other relevant parties.
  • Ensuring the accurate distribution of estate assets.
  • Providing technical advice on estate planning, trusts, inheritance tax, and related matters.
  • Checking the accuracy and legality of wills drafted by their team.
  • Keeping up to date with current legislation and best practice in probate, wills, and estate planning.
