A great opportunity exists for a detail-oriented, confident and highly organized professional to join Capital One’s Subpoena Fulfillment and Intake team. This team based in the Capital One Legal department is a dynamic group of legal professionals who receive, review, research, and fulfill on third-party subpoenas issued to Capital One. This role will involve reviewing legal requests (e.g. subpoenas) received from external requestors including state agencies, private attorneys, and law enforcement. Also part of the core job function is customer account research, document collection, and coordination with internal business groups. The Principal Coordinator must be able to manage multiple responsibilities, demonstrate strong judgment, and meet time-bound deadlines. In order to achieve meaningful, collaborative time in the office, working onsite at the West Creek campus (Richmond VA) three days a week is expected.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification
  • At least 1 year of experience in Google Workspace and Excel

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or military experience
  • 1+ years of experience in a law firm OR legal department
  • 1+ years of experience in financial services industry
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and time management

Responsibilities:

  • Receive and review legal requests from government agencies, law enforcement, and private attorney firms seeking customer account information
  • Communicate with requesting parties/agencies to resolve ambiguous requests.
  • Interact with business lines to research account systems of record
  • Ensure completeness, quality, and accuracy consistent with legal requests.
  • Notate relevant request and response information in system of record
  • Manage workload in an efficient manner to insure responsibilities are completed timely and within stated team benchmarks
  • Identify issues within scope and escalate to management in a timely manner
  • Actively support and comply with team and department objectives
  • Assist with team administrative functions, reporting, and special projects (as needed)
