Description:

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • You have a diploma with mechanical or chemical process background.
  • You have 2-4 years of experience in operating a plant or pilot plant.
  • You are mechanically inclined and hands-on experience with equipment maintenance and repair.
  • You have experience with instrumentation and process control functionality.
  • You have hands-on experience working with valves, stationary and rotary process equipment (e.g.: heat exchanger, G-L separator, humidifier, filters, pump, vacuum pumps, blowers).
  • You have good familiarity with boiler operation and daily inspection.
  • You are able to work weekends on rare occasions when needed and be on call for scheduled rotation.

BONUS SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • You have prior experience operating Gas Adsorption and Separation Processes (e.g. TSA, PSA, VPSA).

Responsibilities:

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

Reporting to Process Demonstration and Testing Manger, as the PDU Test Technician, you will provide onsite and remote monitoring of tests conducted in Process Demonstration Units (PDU) and Pilot Plants, monitor systems, perform inspections, updates logbooks and informs engineer or management of any issues. You will be part of team to analyze and produce essential data for Svante’s technology development.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE IN THIS ROLE:

  • You will safely operate of the PDU test unit including maintaining instruments and equipment, process tuning, troubleshooting, and performing corrective actions.
  • You will performs start up, normal operation, shut down, and emergency stop safely following procedures.
  • You will perform lab sampling (e.g.: condensate, boiling feed water) and analysis.
  • You will take actions monitoring plant data such as pressure, flow rate, temperature and composition.
  • You will complete daily and weekly reports and other reporting requirements as needed.
  • You will perform visual and auditory inspection of unit, informs management of any variances or issues.
