Job Description
ACCIONA Agua is seeking a talented and experienced Process Engineer to facilitate the safe delivery of projects by undertaking process design, project management, and administration of allocated projects. The Process Engineer will interface with key stakeholders to ensure project timelines, milestones, and key requirements are met.
Key Responsibilities:

Design:

  • Contribute to the design process of projects by providing process planning, conceptual, and detailed sustainable, value-engineered design for large-scale desalination water treatment plant projects.
  • Plan, design, and conduct process modeling (membrane simulations); support business development as required.
  • Develop and complete technical calculations, documents, and schedules, including procurement specifications.
  • Prepare and manage digital design information related to drawing registers, transmittals, change request documents, etc.
  • Prepare and present D&C cost estimates.

Project Delivery:

  • Develop and compile project documents, communicate with clients and partners for clarifications, coordinate site visits, and manage project progress and technical meetings.
  • Ensure the selection, construction, and installation of process equipment meet the design and project specifications.
  • Manage the scoping, definition, specification, and tendering during the procurement phase.
  • Coordinate and file project documentation, including tender and contract documents, correspondence, safety, quality, and environmental documentation.
  • Contribute to the development of Management Plans, Functional Descriptions, Commissioning, ITP’s performance test, and O&M documentation.
  • Resolve non-critical project issues through collation and analysis of relevant information and making appropriate recommendations.
  • Communicate with the Project Team, third parties, and Head Office counterparts on specific technical issues in civil, electrical, and other areas.
  • Complete requests for quotations for vendor equipment.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Glean pertinent information from the project and convey it effectively.
  • Propose improvements for the project through technical modifications.
  • Prepare significant parts of client offers and collaborate on presentations and defences.
  • Maintain relationships with vendors (subcontractors).
  • Supervise the assigned team’s tasks (if applicable).

Required Skills and Competencies

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Degree qualifications in Civil, Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering field.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a comparable technical field.
  • Strong communication skills in verbal and written English (including technical report writing).
  • Ability to prioritize and work autonomously on tasks.
  • Ability to work within a team as well as independently.
  • Valid driver’s license recognized by Australia.
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel both interstate and overseas.
  • Spanish language skills preferred.

Minimum Experience:

  • Experience in the process design of desalination water treatment processes.
  • Experience with membrane projections.
  • Previous experience leading a design team or similar position.
  • Capabilities in supervising engineering design development, including the preparation of process calculations, specifications, and drawings in a digital engineering environment (e.g., BIM).
