Process Engineer Co-Op/Intern
A Process Engineer Co-Op/Intern at Mosaic will be assigned to special projects and will assist other engineers on major projects and day-to-day troubleshooting to optimize mill performance. Projects will focus on improving facility efficiency and final product quality.
Where will you work:
Mosaic Potash Belle Plaine is a solution mine and refinery located 50 kilometers west of Regina on the Trans-Canada Highway. It is the world’s largest solution mine that is full of talented people and is home to over 500 dedicated employees.
Housing and relocation can be provided for qualified candidates.

Full time Co-Op/Internship. 36-40 hours a week on site.

What you’ll do?

  • Day to day work assignments could include fieldwork, e.g. data analysis, report writing, and database maintenance.
  • Projects will be assigned by the supervisor and could include:
  • Troubleshooting to identify root cause of problems
  • Mass and energy balances for various types of chemical processes
  • Developing a process flow diagram for a new opportunity
  • Sizing pumps and equipment
  • Computer modeling
  • Assist Turnaround and Repair Day equipment inspections as required
  • Communicate with various levels of personnel throughout the organization, including management, plant operators, engineers (of various disciplines), lab personnel, and contractors
  • Participation in department meetings and meetings specific to the project assignment
  • Adhering to Mosaic’s mission, guiding principles and priorities, and key competencies

What you’ll need:

  • Second year or higher pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Industrial, Mechanical and or Process Engineering or other applicable disciplines
  • General understanding of engineering concepts and a desire to learn
  • 72% Percentage or higher
  • General understanding of engineering concepts and a desire to learn
  • Ability to function in an industrial chemical and mining environment
  • 1-2 years of experience volunteering, working with student/school organizations, or work is preferred
  • Previous internship or co-op experience is preferred
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license - You will need to be able to travel to and from sites and/or office.
  • Basic computer skills are required
  • Experience working in a team environment is a must
  • Familiarity with an industrial environment is highly desirable
  • Effective verbal communication skills is a plus
  • Physical work environment is occasionally outdoors with exposure to varying degrees of hot and cold environments
  • Selected candidates will be required to successfully complete the following: Post-offer/pre-placement drug and alcohol screening, background check, physical, functional capacity examination
