Description:

A globally renowned materials manufacturing business is recruiting a Process Engineer to join its R&D team based in Leicester on a permanent basis. As Process Engineer you will play a vital role in designing and developing new technology for the manufacturing site – in line with safety requirements.

PROCESS ENGINEER REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree level qualification in Chemical Engineering or closely related.
  • Strong 3-D CAD (SolidWorks), 2-D (AutoCAD) experience.
  • Proven Process Engineering/Manufacturing experience.
  • Computer literacy. Proficient in the use of statistical software and Microsoft Office Suite including MS Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, or equivalent.
  • Strong communication & reporting skills to all organisational levels
  • Experience delivering engineering projects
  • Experience of data driven problem solving
  • Process risk and hazard assessment tools (e.g. PFMEA, FMEA, HAZOP)
  • Understanding of continuous improvement methodologies (e.g. Six Sigma, Kaizen etc)

Responsibilities:

  • Design and development of existing & introduction of new technology to the factory in line with safety requirements
  • Identification and implementation of process improvements to reduce manufacturing costs and improve product quality
  • Innovation and technology development (including transfer between sites) to ensure best / consistent practices are used throughout the organisation
  • Delivery of projects within budget, scope and safety requirements
  • Design, development and industrialisation of new and existing manufacturing technologies from various stages of the TRL scale
  • Identification and implementation of process improvements to reduce manufacturing costs, improve product quality and safety
  • NPD introduction to the factory and optimisation of the process
  • Promote a safety-first culture based on human relations and develop individuals through effective coaching
