Description:

One of our automotive clients in Chatham, ON region is looking for a Process Engineer for their manfacturing facility.
Shift: Days

Pay - $65-$100kKey Responsibilities

  • Process Design and Development: Develop and improve manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency and quality in production. Design layouts and process flow charts to optimize manufacturing sequences.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Collect, analyze, and report on production data to monitor process performance, identify issues, and implement corrective actions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead continuous improvement initiatives, utilizing methodologies like Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen to reduce waste, lower costs, and increase productivity.
  • Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Identify root causes of process inefficiencies, defects, and equipment malfunctions; implement corrective actions to resolve issues quickly.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure processes meet automotive industry quality standards and customer requirements. Conduct quality control audits and collaborate with the quality team to ensure product integrity.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, maintenance, and engineering, to ensure smooth integration of new processes and equipment.
  • Process Documentation: Maintain and update standard operating procedures (SOPs), process flow charts, and other documentation to reflect changes and improvements.
  • Training and Development: Train production teams on new processes, machinery, and best practices, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure all processes meet safety regulations and environmental standards. Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in process engineering, ideally in an automotive manufacturing environment.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD software, ERP systems, and statistical process control (SPC). Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical skills with a systematic approach to troubleshooting and resolving issues.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and present technical information clearly.
  • Attention to Detail: Keen attention to detail, with a commitment to quality and accuracy in all tasks.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to work on the production floor, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods as necessary.
