This role will be reporting to the Head of Production and supporting the extended Production Management team to provide the following.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

Degree in an appropriate discipline (mechanical, electrical or other related discipline) from a recognised tertiary education institution.
Operational experience in the requirements of the code of Good Manufacturing Practice [cGMP] in a Pharmaceutical environment.

Responsibilities:

Lead the team of Line Setters to ensure production schedule starts as per schedule and ensure machines are run to maximum efficiency.
Provide frontline engineering support to analyse, resolve, and improve production and/or equipment issues to reduce downtime, increase efficiency, whilst maintaining product quality.
Liaise with other Engineering, Production and Quality groups to facilitate efficient operations and ensure department objectives of Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost are achieved.
Ensure preventative maintenance tasks are completed on time, are deemed effective and issues identified are followed up with the correct resources to rectify or improve, ultimately continuously striving to optimise the process.
Analyse data based on OEE metrics, offer quantitative and qualitative observations, and develop recommendations to drive improvements.
Participate in implementation of the long-term technical master plan for the area to ensure effective lifecycle management of the equipment and provision of critical spare parts.
To supervise tradespeople on the Production floor and liaise with Engineering, Production and Quality colleagues to achieve business objectives.
To investigate, develop and implement solutions to engineering problems related to production equipment and systems or the causes of component failures.
Implement small improvement projects to enhance the performance of the designated area, leveraging Lean Six Sigma (LSS) methodology.
Raise and implement Process Change Requests and Deviations/CAPAs where appropriate.
Investigate production deviations, determine the cause of failure, and implement permanent solutions.
Develop and maintain technical and operating documentation and conduct training activities.
Leading and facilitating improvement projects which will ‘’Right First Time” culture.
