Are you a recent graduate and enthusiastic about taking your first steps to become a Process Engineer? IPS is hiring! Come join our industry-leading Process Engineering team at our European office based in Dublin, Ireland, and become a valued member of our enriching Graduate Programme.
As a member of our team, you’ll collaborate with a diverse and inclusive group of Designers, Architects, and Engineers. In this transformative two-year programme, you’ll work on developing design concepts for Feasibility, Concept, Basic Design, Site Master Planning Studies, and detailed design information. Your focus will be on the technical aspects of projects, with a particular emphasis on those related to the Pharmaceutical and Life Sciences industry.

What You’ll Do

  • Collaborate directly with our prestigious clients, global brand leaders in the pharmaceutical and life sciences industries.
  • Work alongside a dedicated group of industry professionals who are passionate about delivering intricate facilities.
  • Attend job and construction meetings in-office and onsite.
  • Support the production of calculations, using chemical or bioprocess engineering formulas and skills for design basis such as mass/energy balances, process control, process flow, equipment sizing, and utility consumptions.
  • Support the process engineering team with the development of concept, front-end, and detailed design packages for global clients within the life sciences industry.
  • Support the development of process descriptions.
  • Support the development of Block Flow Diagrams (BFDs), Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), and Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) of the process design.
  • Support the development of process control philosophies and Functional Design Specifications (FDS).
  • Help with the selection of detailed equipment lists.
  • Participate in engineering design reviews (GMP, safety, operational, maintenance).
  • Use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents.
  • Support the piping engineering team to develop 3D models of the process pipework and process equipment design.
  • Research design options and document findings for senior process engineers.
  • Provide process information to the Mechanical Engineer for incorporation into equipment specifications.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Engineering Degree in Chemical, Bio-process, or Bio-manufacturing Engineering.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A commitment to attaining further professional development within the next three years, with support provided by the company.
  • Proven skills in computer operation for engineering design programs and computer-aided drafting.
  • General knowledge of industrial process system design and applicable regulatory codes for pharmaceutical, drug, and/or medical device manufacturing.
  • Previous engineering or design experience.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
  • oral and written communication skills, with an emphasis on fostering a communicative and inclusive workplace.
