EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Plastics or Biomedical Engineering is desired. In lieu of a degree, previous experience in a similar or exact role may be considered.
- 8 month place in relevant role is desired
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Proficient communication skills, written and oral.
- Flexibility, persistence, resourcefulness, a drive to succeed, and an entrepreneurial spirit.
- SolidWorks 3D CAD proficiency.
- Familiarity with Continuous Improvement and Lean principles is desired.
- Familiarity with Design for Manufacturability and Assembly (DFM / DFA) is desired.
- Experience working within operations / engineering to develop strong manufacturing process instructions and operator training to ensure smooth product transition into the manufacturing environment is desired.
- Familiarity with FDA QSR and ISO 13485 medical device regulations is desired.
- Familiarity with Minitab, statistics, etc. is desired
Responsibilities:
SUMMARY OF THE ROLE
Participates as a team member in the production / engineering team providing line support and engineering support for commercial products in Balloons and catheters.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Contributes to yield / efficiency improvement projects for production.
- Contributes to execution of process validation activities and test protocols.
- Conducts feasibility studies, continuous improvement and lean projects to improve yields, balance the line and increase outputs.
- Completes / maintains preventative maintenance and calibration for the cleanroom equipment.
- Complete equipment qualification for new equipment.
- Participate in daily meetings with focus on line yields, output and efficiency.
- Problem solving production issues and implement robust solutions.
- Ensure standard times are accurate and achievable for each part.
- Drive continuous improvement within the site.
